GMIT's Centre for Creative Arts and Media (CCAM) is located a mile from the main campus on the Monivea Road. It is based in an old Redemptorist Monastery and is now the location of an Art, Design and Media college. It offers undergraduate courses in design, contemporary arts, film & documentary, textiles and fine art.

This is a group for past students of art courses at ATU Mayo (GMIT) over the past 25 years to connect as an online community. When joining, please let us know what year you attended the course - all past students of the various courses in Castlebar are welcome.

The third year contemporary art students in CCAM at GMIT were faced with many problems and uncertainties this year whilst trying to organize their end of year exhibition. To overcome the level 5 restrictions their creative thinking brought a variety of ideas to the fold from a window exhibition in Salthill, to a virtual exhibition online.

Nearby in Galway is the Centre for Creative Arts and Media, housed in a former monastery, which offers courses in art, design, film and documentary. Next to Mayo General Hospital, you will find GMIT’s Mayo Campus, which specialises in nursing and outdoor education.

The monastery was home to GMIT's School of Design and Creative Arts from 1998 until its rebranding in 2022 as Atlantic Technological University, [14] and offers undergraduate courses in design, contemporary arts, film & documentary, textiles and fine art.
