Rock Island repaints of former Union Pacific F units
Kind of a modeler's slant (sorry) but I have just viewed the Bowser HO F3 units that the Rock Island received from the Union Pacific back in the 1970's. Bowser's gray paint on the trucks is obviously not patterned after the original UP gray, wanted to …
Gray Days with BUGX 2000 - Trainorders.com
More often than not, gray skies can settle in and blanket the valley for days on end. Those days can present unique photo opportunities along Central California Traction's Central Valley Branch. Lately, Dieselmotive Company's BUGX 2000 has been enlisted to work CCT's Lodi Flyer, a Monday-Friday roundtrip turn between Stockton, CA-Lodi, CA.

Beware? Bowser's New NYO&W F-3's Grey Paint? - Trainorders.com
As freshly painted they did resemble a dark gray, maybe with a slight tinge of green. The Best and Worst Paint Schemes - Trainorders.com
GN sky blue scheme was absolutely awful no matter what they put it on. GN F's orange and green was a classic scheme. Best GP scheme I think is T&P's swamp holly orange and back a shown on GP-7 #1114 attached. It looked great on NW-2's and SW's as well. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/30/09 17:19 by tomstp.

Milwaukee Road: Kadoka SD depot colors in review
There were various colors for Milwaukee Road depots. I believe that in late years, the depots were painted with grey and dark reddish brown colors. These photos are from the South Dakota State Historical Society and said to be from 1979. This is …
Nostalgia & History > L&N cab unit paint schemes - Trainorders.com
I believe he's asking about the "dip" scheme that replaced blue and cream. What I recall is black for freight units and blue for passenger units, although I'm not sure about the FP7s. In any event, dip was quickly replaced by gray and yellow.
