Pol (HIV) - Wikipedia
Pol (DNA polymerase) refers to a gene in retroviruses, or the protein produced by that gene. Products of pol include: Common to all retroviruses, this enzyme transcribes the viral RNA into double-stranded DNA. This enzyme integrates the DNA produced by reverse transcriptase into the host's genome.
Cryo-EM structure of the HIV-1 Pol polyprotein provides ... - Science
2022年7月6日 · We developed a system to produce stable HIV-1 Pol and determined its cryo–electron microscopy structure. RT in Pol has a similar arrangement to the mature RT heterodimer, and its dimerization may draw together two PR …
The packaging and maturation of the HIV-1 Pol proteins
The Pol protein of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) harbours the viral enzymes critical for viral replication; protease (PR), reverse transcriptase (RT), and integrase (IN). PR, RT and IN are not functional in their monomeric forms and must come together as …
Universal profiling of HIV-1 pol for genotypic study and resistance ...
Currently available viral genotyping methods are useful for viral quantification, but are inadequate for sequence profiling or comprehensive mutation detection in the variable regions of HIV polymerase (pol). A novel set of universal primers within pol, with consensus among a variety of HIV-1 subtypes, was developed.
Modeling and Analysis of HIV-1 Pol Polyprotein as a Case Study …
Our HIV-1 NL4.3 Pol dimer model is the first full-length Pol tertiary structure. It can provide a structural platform for studying the autoprocessing mechanism of HIV-1 Pol and for developing new potent drugs. Moreover, the workflow can be used to predict other large protein structures that cannot be resolved via conventional experimental methods.
Full article: Analysis of HIV-1 subtypes and drug resistance …
2025年3月18日 · HIV-1 pol gene diversity reflected HIV-1 subtype C being the dominant subtype and the presence of potential unique recombinant forms. Evolutionary estimates indicated that these recombinants might have emerged during 2004–2005, with ancestry of their subtype B traced to be of United States of America (USA) origin. The drug resistance mutation ...
Unraveling HIV-1 transmission patterns through molecular
3 天之前 · Demographic characteristics of the participants. From 1,004 HIV-1 positive plasma samples, 627 gag, 809 pol and 723 env sequences were successfully amplified and sequenced. Based on the genotypes ...
Targeting HIV-1 conserved regions: An immunoinformatic …
4 天之前 · Consequently, focusing on these proteins may represent an effective strategy for preventing or treating HIV−1 infection. Gag, Pol, and Env are examples of polyproteins that have been identified as immunogenic, meaning they have the potential to elicit a strong immune response . Moreover, HIV−1 exhibits significant genetic variability ...
Frontiers | Evolutionary Analysis of HIV-1 Pol Proteins Reveals ...
Our aims were to systematically characterize HIV-1 subtype evolution and to identify the regions responsible for HIV-1 subtype differentiation at the amino acid level in the Pol protein, which is often used to classify the HIV-1 subtypes.
