2020年6月16日 · HelloTalk has the community where you can ask questions and get corrections, Tandem doesn’t really have that. Tandem you’ll have more quality conversations. Usually not as many, but people on there tend to reply more and actually engage in conversation. On HelloTalk I usually fall out of touch within a few hours at most.

Just so you know, it's funny you mention all that, and yet recommend discord. This stuff is pretty much what you expect. Also, thanks to HelloTalk (2nd year now), I've been able to visit Japan over 10 times, and progressively converse relatively comfortably on my own. That and meeting new people in many different prefectures.

2023年5月22日 · The HelloTalk web page is not perfect. You don't have to scan the QR code every time. It is possible to reload the website although chat history will be missing, but you can still send messages online. I think if you didn't open the app for a few days, it will ask you to rescan the QR code.
