Range: From Panamá southward along the Pacific slopes of western South America through Colombia and Ecuador, and the upper Amazonian Basin of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, northwestern Bolivia, and western Brazil. Comment: Torres-Carvajal, Etheridge, and de Queiroz, Zootaxa, 2754: 11–12, discussed the evidentiary ambiguity for monophyly of this taxon.
