WTF is horsepower and does it actually matter? : r/AskEngineers
Horsepower is conserved (by conservation of energy) Torque is not conserved. Whatever torque the engine outputs doesn't matter, it can be changed by the transmission. But the horsepower does matter, because that's all the energy the engine can output per unit of time, your transmission can't change this.
ELI5: Torque Vs Horsepower : r/explainlikeimfive - Reddit
Horsepower is how fast you're spinning that thing. Rotating a quarter 10 times per second means more horsepower than rotating a quarter 1 time per second. But having a large rock spin 10 times per second is more horsepower than that same quarter spinning 10 times per second because the rock requires a larger torque to spin.
PSA: Centaur's "Horsepower" Facet does NOT stack with boots
horsepower lets you skip boots if you want, yes you won't be very fast but you'll be fast enough. it lets you rush 3 bracers in the early game, no boots, and mega win your lane, then skip directly to blink or heart or shroud (or blademail or whatever the fuck else you wants) without needing to …

2016年5月8日 · Torque vs Horsepower HA! There is only one right answer to this one, but its so controversial despite that it will definitely stir up debate. Lots of false information on this topic even from what we consider reputable sources. It is in the works and will be a long post. What contributes to the redline of an engine? Excellent.

2019年7月2日 · This modern air cooled, OHV, 45 degree V-twin has hydraulically adjusted valves that never need attention. The factory rates this engine as producing a peak of 86 ft-lbs. of torque at 3500 RPM (at the crankshaft). Independent dynamometer tests usually show 71 to 73 ft-lbs. of torque and 57 to 60 horsepower at the rear wheel for stock engines.
How much horsepower do you really need? : r/whatcarshouldIbuy
Horsepower is complete horseshit, because it doesn't take into account weight, torque, transmission, gear size/length, throttle response, tire width, tire diameter, or drivetrain. When you take hybrid/electric vehicles into account, this becomes even more complicated, because while a gas/diesel engine only produces maximum torque at a certain ...
ELI5: why do some engines make more horsepower than torque
2023年7月10日 · It's impossible mathematically with that formula for the torque to be a higher number than the horsepower at any rpm under 5252rpm. Even though the TDI probably redlines somewhere around 4500RPM, let's hypothetically say that the motor continues to make that same 134 horsepower up to 6000rpm. Doing the math it will only be making 117.3 lbs-ft.
How much HP does your average driver need/want? : r/cars - Reddit
2015年6月21日 · There's a reason why the vast majority of cars (especially performance cars) have more horsepower than torque. If you're saying "engineers can't design engines for more torque than horsepower" that's just plain wrong. Look at the SL 65 AMG (738 lb/ft torque, 615 hp) and weighs 4200 lbs.
Starship "horsepower" : r/SpaceXLounge - Reddit
2021年5月26日 · Horsepower and gravity lift. The specification for horsepower was originally specifically designed around the lifting of a dead weight against gravity by a pony, then scaled to reflect a larger horse, then standardized. So the gravity losses would be included in the figure.
Actual horsepower for KTM 350 EXC-F for different years
One that I am looking at is a 2019 and every source I can find says that the horsepower for this model and year is around 34hp. In looking at some later year models I am seeing much higher figures. I have seen a few sources that say that the 2024 350 EXC-F has 51 horsepower. Could it be true that they have gained 15 horsepower during that time ...
