I get that it's a videogame (a sort of toy for adults), but the diagonal of the map is 13.1 km which would be a half marathon if it were in miles, which it isn't. The map is roughly 8.1 miles across. Providing I didn't get shot, I could run all the way across it in under an hour, figuring that it's mountainous.

Realistically it would probably be near 500k square miles or more, however having a map that size is not feasible for a few reasons. The amount of data required for a map that size is absurd. Especially if the map is just as alive as it currently is.

RDR2's map doesn't just feel big, it IS bigger than GTA 5. Secondly, I know some areas like new autsin and from top of mt chilliad, the maps look a bit smaller, that's because I didn't have exponential height fog in my scene. height fog does WONDERS tbh.
