2009年1月9日 · Agmantoo is correct. I use this procedure for my cattle though I do not rasp a groove around the horn. I cut the hair at the base of the horn as close to the head as possible. This is where there is a soft growth ring. The little green banders will work if the horn can accomodate the banding tool. There are larger banders available also.

2010年4月24日 · get your hands on a calcrate cattle bander. we have used sawzall, hacksaw, horn cutters, and every other thing we could find--all with the same results, blood everywhere and even lost some due to cutting to deep. we tried that bander and will never go back, does take a while for the horns to fall off and the cows are really are mad for a while--must hurt a little.

2014年11月12日 · I use a callicrate banded and I use clippers to shave around the horn base and put a couple layers of good duct tape over the band after you put it on .. for a single calf you could probably have the vet out to DeHorn her cheaper than buying a callicrate bander as they are pretty proud of them
