The Engauge Digitizer tool accepts image files (like PNG, JPEG and TIFF) containing graphs, and recovers the data points from those graphs. The resulting data points are usually used as input to other software applications. Conceptually, Engauge Digitizer is the opposite of a graphing tool that converts data points to graphs.

Click on the curve to add a curve point. Repeat until all of the points in the original image are digitized. If this step is too slow and tedious, you can first automatically digitize many points in one step using point match; Export the curve points into a tabular text file using the File/Export As menu option as shown.

Use software to extract chart data. Here use the transfer characteristic curve in the device manual as the target: Open the software, the software is Chinese version, simple and clear. Click the file in the upper left corner, select Import or Import (Advanced), find the picture you want to extract data from, and click OK.

Curves may be exported into an export file using the File/Export menu option. The export file is a tabular text file that can be imported directly into other software tools like Excel and Gnumeric. The format of the export file can be controlled by using the File/Export Setup menu option.
