The AIR-Intelligence high-sensitivity smoke detection system (HSSD) provides superior early warning smoke detectors that adapt to virtually any environment.

VESDA works by continuously drawing air into a distributed pipe network via a high-efficiency aspirator. The air sample then passes through a dual-stage filter. The first stage removes dust and dirt from the air sample before it enters the laser detection chamber.

The High Sensitivity Smoke Detector (HSSD®) shall be an ORION XT Detector manufactured by Kidde Fire Systems. The HSSD® shall be mounted in a NEMA-1 (IP-31) polycarbonate enclosure, which contains a fan, detector head, and termination board. The HSSD® shall contain a brushless, radial fan that is powered by a regulated voltage supply.

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a homogenous material with good chemical resistance and high impact strength. Other advantageous features are its suitability for use at low temperatures (-40°C) and its ease of joining.
