HURRICANE TIE DOWNS FOR SHEDS - Homesteading Forum
2017年3月11日 · Does anyone have advice about or experience with the tie downs sold for sheds? I know that places like Lowes that contract out the garden sheds also sell these. I am building a 10 X 12 shed with a 6/12 metal roof and painted engineered plywood siding. I have the walls framed and up and am ready to put up siding and rafters.
Is it ok to place a metal shed on foundation blocks?
2022年4月3日 · I doubt it is really necessary, unless the weight of the shed would cause it to sink over the years. If you are worried about any shed blowing away, you can use house trailer augers and cable tie downs. In some zoned areas, the community, or township may have their own rules about the size and placement of "storage" sheds. geo

2010年4月4日 · Local tradition often involved rafter pairs that were half lapped at the peak and pegged. I would use a full length 2x8 ridge board, 4x6 rafters on 24" centers and 2x8 ceiling joists every 24". Hand nail everything together with 16d common nails and throw a hurricane strap on ever rafter tail where it sits on the wall.

2015年1月18日 · Harry, looking at the OP's photo, I'm pretty sure there are metal tie downs in place. Around here, you can't get power connected without them. But otherwise, I completely agree. To build an extensive roof system over a mobile home is a waste of money, IMHO.
