U.S. Route 29 or U.S. Highway 29 (US 29) is a north–south United States Numbered Highway that runs for 1,043.3 miles (1,679.0 km) from Pensacola, Florida, to Ellicott City, Maryland, just west of Baltimore, Maryland, in the Eastern United States, connecting the Florida Panhandle to the Washington–Baltimore combined statistical area.

2023年1月24日 · U.S. 29 parallels the I-85 corridor from the South Carolina state line through Charlotte, Concord and Salisbury. The two commingle across the Yadkin River to Lexington. Northeast from Lexington to Thomasville and High Point, U.S. 29 overlaps with Business Loop I-85 and U.S. 70. The 1950s expressway was originally designated as Temporary I-85.

2005年6月21日 · Lawrenceville Highway leads U.S. 29 northeast from Decatur to Tucker and Gwinnett County. East from the county seat of Lawrenceville, U.S. 29 combines with State Route 316 along an at-grade expressway to Athens. U.S. 29 bypasses Athens to the north along SR 10 Loop (Athens Perimeter Highway).

I-29 travels through four states, but the interstate is just a mile or two away from being in six. It travels right along the borders of both Nebraska and Minnesota, providing access to several towns that sit on the border of two states, such as Omaha, Sioux City and Fargo.

In Oct 2005, US 29 was placed on newly constructed freeway from the south end of the Amherst Bypass to US 460 east of Falwell Airport. US 29 now follows US 460 west to meet back up with US 29 near Lynchburg Airport. The freeway from US 460 to VA 210 opened in Dec 2004.
