2024年3月27日 · When the M1 Abrams was introduced it had very little armor, basically most Soviet tanks could penetrate the armor from any distance so a stop-gap solution was made to create an “Improved Performance” M1 (IPM1) to solve this issue which primarily consisted of an armor upgrade package.

2024年3月4日 · Making the M1A1 better didn't make the IPM worse. It's still the same tank that's been at 11.0 for a reason. Why would your conclusion to this be that the IPM1 should go down, instead of the M1A1 go up? The IPM1 hasn't changed at all. Honestly I found there to be very little difference between the M1A1 and M1IP.

2023年2月3日 · It tends to vary. We've seen it written as "105mm Gun Tank M1, Improved Performance", which would seem to lean towards "M1IP". That said, within the text, Hunnicutt refers to the tank exclusively as the "IPM1", never "M1IP".
