IAAC Projects to be showcased during the URBiNAT Spring’s Events
The IAAC projects exhibited were: A 3D printed ceramic green wall composed by 3D printed ceramic pots that contains soil, plants and a bio photovoltaic system harnessing energy from the bacteria around plant roots. A modular system developed to grow edible mushrooms in the urban environment, producing both food and construction materials.
CGV: CYBER GREEN VOLTAICS - IAAC
CVG is a green wall composed of 3D printed ceramic pots that contains soil, plants and a bio photovoltaic system. This system harvests the energy produced by bacteria living near the plants’ roots, which is used to activate the irrigation system, making it energy self-sufficient.
PYLOS
Project focuses on the natural properties of soil. Earth, or Soil, as a construction material has been used since Neolithic times. The advantages of an earth - soil structure are primarily related to both the environment and economy, being secure and friendly to our environment.

TerraPerforma - Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia - IAAC
3D Printed Performative Wall. The project, TerraPerforma, focuses on large-scale 3D printing, the influence of additive manufacturing on building with a traditional material – unfired clay – and climatic performative design.
EARTH ARCHITECTURE – Page 5 – Architecture, Art, Design, and …
2024年10月8日 · Assembly took 5 days [3]. The whole process can be seen in this video produced by the IAAC. The structural capacity of the wall and its potential for integration with other building materials is demonstrated by the connection of a timber frame platform that bears on the wall. The research team also designed the wall to be self supporting.

2024年7月24日 · IAAC completed a 100 m² low carbon emissions building prototype using local soil and natural materials, utilizing the pioneering Crane WASP 3D printer.
Digital Rammed Earth – EARTH ARCHITECTURE
2024年12月4日 · Rammed earth is an ancient technology for building with earth. Though some modern rammed earth structures rely on additions like cement to increase compressive strength, rammed earth can, with the correct soil content, form load-bearing walls.
