Membership in IASIU is not automatic. Each application is reviewed by the membership committee before a determination is made.

IASIU offers three certification programs based on your line of work: The Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI) program is an accrediting process for individuals with the specialized skills required to detect, investigate and deter insurance fraud.

Founded in 1984 by insurance fraud investigators, the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to: Bringing the world's fraud fighting community together through education, awareness, and networking.

The program has a high standard for admission and testing, which includes adherence to IASIU’s code of ethics, and a demonstrated competency through mandatory continuing professional education. Requirements for CIFI Certification

As the largest conference in the field, IASIU 2025 offers numerous workshops on topics including auto issues, property issues, medical fraud, major case/ring investigations, technology, social media, worker’s compensation and international issues.
