Each motor vehicle used in for-hire transportation upon the public roads of this State must carry a current, executed (completed) cab card issued by or under the authority of the Illinois Commerce Commission ("Commission") (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 95½, par. 18c-4601). Intrastate cab cards shall bear a pre-printed identification number.

Intrastate household goods vehicles must have the Illinois identification number issued by the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC#) on both sides of each vehicle. If the vehicle also operates interstate, it must display the US DOT number and the IL ICC number.

You may attach the permit to your cab card and carry it in your vehicle, or you may apply for a corrected IRP cab card and have the SHV information included. There is a $3 fee for the corrected cab card if a supplemental application is submitted for the correction.
