Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss the role of grounded representations in learning from interactions with humans. I will first talk about how language instructions along with latent actions can enable shared autonomy in robotic manipulation problems, and its potential impact in the field of assistive robotics.

I will also explain how current technical fixes such as bias tests - which are often developed in the US - are not only insufficient to protect marginalised groups but also clash with the legal requirements in Europe.
