Green bonds enable capital-raising and investment for new and existing projects with environmental benefits. The Green Bond Principles (GBP) seek to support issuers in financing environmentally sound and sustainable projects that foster a net-zero emissions economy and protect the environment.

The International Capital Market Association or ICMA is a not-for-profit global trade association, for participants in the cross-border debt capital markets, [1] with offices in Zurich, London, Paris, Brussels and Hong Kong. ICMA provides industry-driven standards and recommendations.

In addition to the detailed recommendations, ICMA has also developed a number of complementary best practice documents, including a comprehensive set of over 50 SFTR sample reports, which are available on the ICMA website.

ICMA's Code of Ethics includes Guidelines, adopted by the ICMA Executive Board in 1972, to assist members in applying the principles outlined in the Code. The Tenets were most recently amended in April 2023 and the guidelines in June 2023.
