The Ilyushin Il-76 (Russian: Илью́шин Ил-76; NATO reporting name: Candid) is a multi-purpose, fixed-wing, four-engine turbofan strategic airlifter designed by the Soviet Union 's Ilyushin design bureau as a commercial freighter in 1967, to replace the Antonov An-12. It was developed to deliver heavy machinery to remote and poorly served areas.

Il-76TD aircraft is the evolution of the transport modification of the Il-76T aircraft. The transportation efficiency of the aircraft has been improved, in comparison with Il-76T, by way of increasing maximum takeoff weight from 170 to 190 tons, maximum commercial load from 43.4 to 50 tons, and practical flying range with increased maximum load.

The Ilyushin IL-76T and IL76-TD is a medium haul cargo aircraft capable of transporting 48,000 kg. Cargo pallets require a high-loader to access its main deck.
