What they do: Independent Learning Center is a small, innovative high school where students’ interests, passions, and talents drive the learning. Students commit to a personal vision through authentic new learning that empowers them to contribute their knowledge and skills to meaningfully influence the school and make a difference in the world.

2023年12月21日 · Albright, who repeated her 2022 win, and Evans emerged with the top scores in the Dec. 13 competition at The Merc Playhouse in Twisp, where 10 students from Liberty Bell and three from the ILC each recited two poems before a panel of judges and an enthusiastic audience of supporters.

2024年1月25日 · Now, the ILC has received a $30,000 grant from the Washington State Board of Education to work with a specialized coach from the state’s Mastery-based Learning Collaborative (MBLC). With the grant award, the ILC joins 40 schools in the MBLC that assess students based on their competency and demonstrated understanding of a subject.
