The SLS Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) is a motorised inflatable boat crewed by two (2) lifesavers/lifeguards to conduct SLS operations in the surf zone and near shore environments. The primary purpose of an IRB is to safely, but quickly negotiate the white-water surf zone to reach a person requiring assistance, and to transport them back to shore.
