Was this on purpose so that the Titan didn't wake back up? And does the same thing apply to the Icon of Sin? Will it revive if the blade of the Crucible is removed?

The Icon of Sin is a dormant demonic entity in Doom (2016) found within the depths of the Necropolis in Hell. The lore left by the demons seems to describe it as a weapon of infernal mass destruction which is "brought upon the heathens" of other worlds after their defenses have fallen to the forces of Hell, with "swift and merciless" vengeance.
