Grainger Distinguished Chair in Engineering, professor, and a noted inventor and entrepreneur, has been named director of the Interdisciplinary Health Science Institute (IHSI) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Boppart has served as interim IHSI director since 2022.
