Store your seed in an encrypted file, and protect it with a password. An open source password manager like KeePass and a USB flash drive work well.

The IOTA Legacy Migration Tool is a standalone app to help you migrate your tokens from the legacy IOTA network to the current IOTA Mainnet running the Stardust protocol. The new tool allows users to migrate from an 81-character seed, a Trinity seed vault file, or a Ledger device.

It is secure, using random data from the mouse and other entropy such as current time, to generate an IOTA seed. It also provides 36 mnemonic words (35 + 1 parity) to represent the seed, that can be used to recover the seed at all times.

IOTA uses a seed to create addresses which can be used to send and receive transfers. A seed consists of a set of uppercase letters and/or the number nine and has a fixed length of 81 characters. Please write down the generated seed before continuing

The IOTA protocol uses a 81-tryte seed to derive all the private keys for one account. This RFC describes a method to represent that seed as a mnemonic sentence - a group of easily comprehensible words. The used seed is a 384-bit or 243-trit random string.

A deterministic seed generator based on the Master Password Algorithm, adapted from Tom Thorogood's Javascript implementation in particular, which is CC BY 4.0-licensed. Note that this generator has not been audited so please do not use seeds it produces to store money yet.

You can generate a seed or store you existing seeds. This is a full windows c# client. Feel free to look at the source, request feature changes or contribute your own changes. Depending on popularity i will implement extra features and a linux/osx version aswell
