The International Telecommunication Union established the following grid for Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing systems. ITU recommends the 100 GHz (0.8 nm) spacing for DWDM operation. The 50 GHz offset (0.4 nm spacing) offers twice the bandwidth. The grid is centered at 193.10 THz (1552.52 nm).
