The first delivery of the new Gen II Improved Outer Tactical Vest (IOTV) in Operation Enduring Freedom Camouflage Pattern (OCP) began on 16 July 2010.

The IOTV is a side-opening vest that provides a greater area of coverage than the Outer Tactical Vest (OTV) and weighs three pounds less. The IOTV enhancements over the OTV include: increased number of available sizes for Soldiers with long torsos. TM 10-8470-208-10.

This yoke and collar front assembly in OCP is for the US Army Improved Outer Tactical Vest. When worn with the IOTV it increases your threat protection by covering the lower front of your neck and the front of your collar. The yoke and collar front assembly attaches directly to the vest by four MOLLE straps that lace into the collar of your vest.

These yoke and collars mount to the IOTVs front plate bag adding protection around the end users’ neck from minor ballistic threats when worn with intended soft armor insert. The yoke and collar assembly was totally redesigned as follows: The front collar extends over the shoulder. The rear collar does not extend over the shoulders. Both assemblies are available in 8 sizes, and in OCP as well as in UCP.
