The very *first* generation 2425's had a straight nose and were painted gray = and the whole driver was assembled with allen bolts. And the "S" version ( 2425HS ) was used in the first gen JBL / urei monitors and early theater stuff. Later JBL renamed it the 2426 and used a removable "snout" - and also produced a 2" exit version called the 2427

I have a line on a pair of JBL 2425 compression drivers with 2371A horns. These horns are really too large for the compact speaker project. I also have a pair of 18sound XT1086 horns on the shelf that may mate well with the JBL 2425’s. The JBL 2425/XT1086 combo may fit the compact speaker project.

The Everest used a one inch throat compression driver (pro model number 2425) attached to the previously mentioned asymmetric horn (model number 2346) for the midrange. A one inch driver was selected since the original 4660 horn was designed around such a driver.

2005年1月25日 · This plot compares a titanium JBL 2425 and 2426, and an aluminum LE85 all mounted to a JBL 2370 measured on axis at 1 meter. You can see the 2425 and 2426 have different response curves, but the LE85 to my mind was the real shiner here. Imagine what the 2421 diaphragm's response would look like!

The driver you posted a link to is a 2" throat four bolt design. The 2344 horn is a one inch throat with three bolt holes. There are a great many one inch drivers on the market these days that perform as well or better than the JBL 2425 or 2426 drivers originally used with these horns but most are two bolt designs.

2452H-SL on PT-F95HF (JBL part# 338650-001,) the combination used in VP7212MDP, i.e., "Used as intended." Two projects are built, and two more are under construction, LE14H-3 being the preferred woofer, with 2235H as alternate, both @ 1kHz.
