2002年10月24日 · The the JBL K series was an updated version of the D series. It uses the same frame and alnico magnet assembly, but painted black instead of gray, and has a higher wattage voice coil, 200 Watts, I think. There may be other minor differences, but I'll leave that to the JBL experts here. D and K series speakers sound very similar to me.

2014年7月30日 · The K130 cones, voice coils and spiders are no longer available. While the original K140's (bass drivers) had ribbed cones, lots of after market cones are ribbed. Unless you have a cone with the original JBL part number on it, there is no way to tell 'what' has been installed in your K130 frame - but is is most certainly no longer a JBL K130.

2005年3月28日 · The only difference between a K130 & a K140 is the cone/voice coil assembly. I doubt you could find a factory cone for either, and while I suppose it's possible to manufacture an aftermarket cone to the same spec as the JBL's I have yet to find one that duplicates the warmth and characteristics of the original D/K series speakers.

2002年8月21日 · Sounded OK to me. I guess the K130 would be my JBL choice overall for steel. It will handle more power than the D series... I guess the one who would know the reason for the 140 would be Jimmie, but he's gone. Maybe K130 wasn't available at the time, maybe he was trying something different. Maybe it's a K140 set up to K130 specs. Who knows?

2003年10月28日 · An original JBL K 130 will only handle a maximum of 200 watts so keep that in mind for whatever application you are using it for. If its been reconed, chances are that it now has different voice coil material which is heavier and the speaker will handle more power.

And is the "cloth edge cone" the same as the oniginal k130 cone? From what I am gathering, the E/K-130 is the same cone and either E/K-140 will fit my basket. Sound correct ...

2008年2月16日 · the funny thing is, JBL changed the x/max's on both the 130 and 140 on the E series. the D and K 130's have a tiny x/max of .7mm, whereas the e130 has a much higher 2.56 x/max, but and the D and K 140's have a 5.09mm x/max and the E140has a lower 3.56mm one.

Stevie always blew up his JBL D130F speakers. He went to the JBL K130, then at last he used EVM 15L speakers. I am all about sticking to Fenders exact circuit. Visually and toneally.
