As far as what I'm looking to do with it is basically have a fun and fast buoy chaser. So i am definitely interested in bottom to mid range and just a little top.

It really was a fun project to keep me busy during covid lockdown. there were days when I doubted if it would ever run again. I was dreading the shame of having to buy a remanufactured motor or toss the whole project. The resources available online are truly outstanding.

I have a '86 js550 with a Mariner water box, Ride plate (also mariner) and want to upgrade it some more. What are some mods that aren't to pricey but are worth it? Is a pipe or half pipe more or less restrictive than the OEM breadbox exhaust.

2015年4月20日 · I have used those oem Kawasaki parts to rebuild js550's since the late eighties. The beauty of the 94', 95' pistons and rings is they run great in a loose cylinder. Most likely you could avoid boring the cylinder if you use those pistons and rings. The 94', 95' piston rings are substantially thicker than the stock 88' rings.
