Jean-Philippe Maury is a French pastry chef, who currently owns iDessert in San Diego and oversees two pastry shops aboard a cruise ship. Maury was born and raised in Perpignan in the south of France. At the age of eight, he often helped his aunt while she was baking, which sparked his curiosity and inspiration for pastry. [1] .

Less than a year later, Maury became the executive pastry chef for the AAA Five Diamond Bellagio in Las Vegas, overseeing dessert production for 17 gourmet restaurants and managing a team of 70 employees, producing nearly 15,000 pastries daily.

He was awarded the title of World Champion in pastry, first in 2002 as a participant and again in 2004 as a coach. In 2005 his shop in the Bellagio unveiled the world’s largest chocolate fountain. He left Bellagio in 2009 to serve as executive pastry chef for MGM’s ARIA Hotel also in Las Vegas, but his pastry shop remained at the Bellagio.
