el34 vs 6v6 wow-huge diff. - The Gear Page
2018年3月28日 · The "Philips" EL34 appears to be a Mullard/Blackburn origin. The sonic character of those Mullards are generally more low-mid and bass grunt, less airy upper mids. For those who preferred the upper-mid content of the JJ 6V6S, you may wish to explore other Philips EL34 from the late '50s (Sittard) or early '60s (Brussels) - they'll really ...
Best place to order JJ 6v6 tubes from? - The Gear Page
2016年8月7日 · I need a set of power tubes, and want to try the JJ 6v6s. I'm confused on all the claims about who matches best (Apex matching?). Just want good reliable tubes from a good seller who will delver as advertised and stand behind them. What retailer do you recommend?

2013年2月14日 · They get bumped from "like" to "love" by virtue of availability and price. They are my backup of choice, and I have no qualms about running them for extended periods of time (until budgets allow OS replacements). As far as modern glass goes, JJ 6V6s rock.

2015年5月20日 · I recently experienced the same issue with my PRRI. I have been using JJ 6V6s since 2009 or so. I love these tunes because they have great bottom and full tone in my amp. I also buy all my JJs from Eurotubes. Eddie is fantastic to deal with! He responds promptly to any e mail or phone call and I always trust his recommendations.
JJ6V6 - Where to go from here? | Page 2 - The Gear Page
2019年4月25日 · a few general words about TAD vs JJ would certainly help. I tried JJ 6V6s in the HB before, went back to 6L6 soon (TAD or Sylvania, I like both). I haven't been a big 6V6 fan in the past, it's the (major) tube I know the least. like you say, sweetness would be desirable, and I like the bubbly compression the amp has with the TADs.
6v6 in place of 6L6 - The Gear Page
2012年12月11日 · So I just took delivery of a used Egnater Renegade. Instead of the usual 6L6 and EL-34 tubes, it came with JJ 6V6S and JJ KT77 tubes. I'm pretty sure the KT77s are an okay swap for EL-34s, but 6V6S in place of 6L6 seems a bit odd to me. Is this safe, and what impact will it have? The...

Thinking about a 65 Reissue Princeton. How are the stock tubes?
2017年8月21日 · JJ knows it's an issue so they build their mutant no quite a 6V6 not quite a 6L6 but they still call it a 6V6. If you want longevity and reliability JJ is practically your only option. There are Russian 6V6s claimed to withstand the voltage but they're not telling you the whole story. They drift. They burn up pretty quick.
