Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) has been launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, on 15th August, 2019, from the ramparts of the Red Fort. The mission, under implementation, in partnership with the States, aims to enable every household in villages to have Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) in the next 5 years.

As per the mapping of JJM with LGD, if any duplicate villages are found, they have been merged into one village according to the LGD code.

Jal Jeevan Mission, is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural India.
