Joey Moe blev som 17-årig opdaget af produktionsselskabet Nexus Music (som bl.a. består af pop/rap-duoen Nik & Jay) og debuterede med albummet MoeTown i 2006, hvorfra nummeret "Flip It (Like a DJ)" blev et hit.
