2) If you're looking for a Jynx, don't expect to use her as a Psychic type. She learns no Psychic moves naturally. You're either going to have to breed some psychic attacks onto one, or find some TMs (and no, the Psychic TM is not available that early). Smoochum does learn Confusion, though, so that's something to work with. Sort of.

Jynx is also listed immediately before Electabuzz and Magmar in the Pokedex, while Scyther is between Mr. Mime and Jynx. Also, while Electivire is physical, Electabuzz is very mixed, with 83/95 offensive stats; in Gen 1, Electabuzz and Magmar even had the same Special stat - 85.

Jynx has a nicer movepool, but will show up later in the game and require a bit of extra training to get on the level of the rest of your team. Jynx took something of a hit in the transition from Advance. Stealth Rock, the ubiquity of Sandstorm, and the Special Defense boosts afforded to Rock-types like Tyranitar are all things that make it more difficult for Jynx to be effective.
