why does KF have a pH greater than 7 and not a pH equal to 7
2011年8月21日 · Anions of strong acids are such weak bases that they have no significant effect on the pH of a solution and are considered basic in water, why does KF have a pH greater than 7 and not a pH equal to 7?
pH in KF vs KBr - CHEMISTRY COMMUNITY
2024年12月5日 · The pH of KF is larger than 7 because the typical acid for F- is HF which is a weak acid and its conjugate base is basic. Also, K is from group 1 which would typically be the cation of a strong base.
Determining whether a compound is an acid or a base
2015年12月1日 · As we learned in titrations, strong acid and strong base together makes a neutral solution. For KF, it is KOH+HF produces KF. Like before KOH is a strong base. HF is a weak acid. A strong base-weak acid combination makes a solution that is basic. Top 2 posts • Page 1 of 1 Return to “Calculating pH or pOH for Strong & Weak Acids & Bases”
Question 12.65 - CHEMISTRY COMMUNITY
2017年7月30日 · "Determine whether an aqueous solution of each of the following salts has a pH equal to, greater than, or less than 7. If pH > 7 or pH < 7, write a chemical equation to justify your answer. (a) NH4Br; (b) Na2CO3; (c) KF; (d) KBr; (e) AlCl3; (f) Cu (NO3)2." I understand what the question is asking me to do, but I am unsure how to do it. Could someone please explain this to me? Thanks in advance!

Ka vs. Kb - CHEMISTRY COMMUNITY
2019年1月18日 · Ka is the ionisation constant, used when dealing with acids and excess protons in a solution. Kb is typically used with bases, and finding the pOH of a solution. Kc is just the relation of Ka and Kb which is Ka X Kb = 10^-14 Top 13 posts • Page 1 of 1 Return to “Equilibrium Constants & Calculating Concentrations” Jump to
Kc Vs Kw - CHEMISTRY COMMUNITY
2022年1月11日 · Kc is the equilibrium constant for any reaction, while Kw is specifically the equilibrium constant for water and its transformation into hydroxide and hydronium. Kw is named separately from Kc because it is such an important value in …
Question 16 Achieve 9-10 - CHEMISTRY COMMUNITY
2023年3月12日 · If we are shifting right, that means K > 1 and therefore Kf must be greater than Kr. That also helps explain why a temperature increase for an endo reaction causes the forward rate constant to increase more than the reverse.
Do we need to know the formation constant? - CHEMISTRY …
2019年12月4日 · The book mentions the formation constant Kf for finding equilibrium for coordination compounds. Do we need to know how to set this up the same way as the acids and bases Ka constant with products over reactant?
