When drivers physically lose their Driver's License, permit, or identification card, they will need to request a replacement credential by mail or by visiting any Driver Licensing Regional office. Submit the application and payment by mail or dropbox to the address below.

Beginning January 1, 2025, a vision test will be required to renew a Kentucky driver’s license. Online renewals will still be available. Customers who pass a screening with a vision specialist or KYTC Credentialed Medical Specialist will be able to submit their signed form online.

Not all plates and vehicles are eligible for online renewal. Review the following details before you start the process: Vehicles registered in separate counties to the current owner must be renewed separately. Leased vehicles cannot be renewed online. The vehicle (s) renewed must have unexpired registration (s).
