TSEC/KY-38 is a half-duplex manpack voice encryption device, introduced around 1967 by the US National Security Agency . The device is part of the NESTOR family of speech encryption devices and was heavily used during the Vietnam War. 1 It is compatible with the KY-8 vehicular unit and the KY-28 airborne unit.
