THE BRITISH & KING'S GERMAN LEGION - the British and KGL infantry battalions carried two colours each, the King's colour which was a union flag with the regimental badge in the centre, and the regimental colour, which was usually in the regiment's facing colour.

On 6 February 1816, following the 1st Hussars of the KGL, the two Horse Batteries, the 9-pounder Foot Battery with the 1st, 2nd and 4th companies of the King's German Artillery and one of the Hannoverian Batteries under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Hartmann, entered Hannover city through the Steintor - cheered by the inhabitants.
