"Shiro" is one of many clones of Shiro created by Haggar and the Galra Empire as part of Operation Kuron. He is the only known clone activated to infiltrate Team Voltron after Shiro mysteriously disappears following the team's initial defeat of Zarkon.

Kuro or Kuron is the name that the fan base has given him. The vld fan base seems to really enjoy Kuro and possible interactions with other characters! This fact allows Kuro to have multiple ships, and plenty of fan made content. I've also heard people call Kuro, Evil Shiro or Clone Shiro.
