William "Bill" Overbeck is one of the four playable Survivors in Left 4 Dead. He is a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Army 1st Special Forces Group, and is the oldest of the group. He is usually seen wielding the Assault Rifle (which appears as the M16A2, a real-life assault rifle used by the U.S. Military after the Vietnam War).

William Overbeck, better known as Bill was a Survivor during the zombie outbreak from the Left 4 Dead series. Before the events of the games he was in the Russian army, and fought in Vietnam. He has an affinity for Bill often plays the role of the team's dad, paticularlly to Zoey.

Bill is a portrayal of the classic hardened old badass who takes the leadership position early on and tries to use his skill and experience to save everyone, but is killed by some unfortunate accident he couldn't have foreseen.
