Cheapest is to find is c4 corvette 113 heads, they're aluminum 56 cc chambers and have 1.94 intake or exhaust valves cant remember, but those are the same specs as your l69 heads just flows a ton better. Theres an iron head version but i forget the casting numbers.

Aug 14, 2011 · How much better are 059 vortec heads over stock MCSS HO 305 heads? There is a guy selling a old 1996 L30 (305) vortec motor for $100 that needs rebuilding. I am thinking about buying it just for the 059 heads to use on my current HO 305 if they are enough of an improvement over L69 heads which are supposed to be pretty good for 305s.

Aug 12, 2008 · The L69 had bigger valves, higher compression, and a 350 cam in it to make the extra power. The L69 also had the larger oval inlet cat and free-er flowing exhaust. In addition, L69 cars came with 3.73 or 3.54 gears as compared with a 2.41 which is common on LG4 cars. The L69 had 9.5:1 compression, and I think the LG4 has 8.5:1.

Aug 14, 2011 · Likely a LG4, the L69 was a Monte Carlo SS engine unless somewhere in it's life a swap was done. Years back I had used Elgin brand cams and lifters in my 86 El Camino with the computer controlled 305 then again in a 355 that replaced the 305.
