Mona is an 0-6-2 locomotive designed by LBSC. It was based upon the Adams LC&DR Radial Tank Engine No. 99. Mona is an inside cylinder design, with Valve gear available as Hackworth, slip Eccentric or Radial type. Originally the drawings were printed in "British Model Maker" magazine from 1956 to 1957.

A commercially built boiler by Bishop-Ellis, unmachined castings, platework, drawings and a copy of LBSC's construction articles for his 3 1/2 inch gauge "Mona" 0-6-2T design, serialised in "Model Maker" magazine. For those not familiar with the design, there are pictures in the archive, including this one which we sold back in 2022.

Here we have a nice little example of a 3 1/2" gauge LBSC 'Mona' 0-6-2. It's clearly been enjoyed and as a result is cosmetically a little scruffy around the edges, but it's actually a crisply made and well engineered example.

A 3 1/2 inch gauge 0-6-2T locomotive to LBSC's "Mona" design, a well built engine which remains in good mechanical condition with bright paintwork. Apparently unsteamed in some time, the boiler had has a hydraulic test with new certification, the engine runs on air in both directions.

This is an 0-6-2 tank loco that he described the construction of in 'Model Maker' magazine, possibly in the early 1960s. Help, please, does anyone know of a supplier of the cylinder castings for this
