3.5" Bamtam Cock castings for LBSC's 2-6-2 LNER Class V4 tender live steam loco, for sale. Looks like a complete set but please check the photos. There is also a set of 8 blueprint drawings that look to be in good condition.

“Princess Marina” is a celebrated LBSC design based on the stanier Class 4 2-6-0, that famous CME’s first design of tender locomotive for the LMSR. Many Princess Marina models have proven their worth over the years as a powerful and reliable design.

Tich was LBSC’s effort to design a beginners locomotive in 3.5” gauge that could be driven on a track. There has been controversy ever since about what the best way to achieve that, but certainly Tich has had plenty of builders, and in larger gauges, too. This was a nice example in 3.5” gauge shown at the 2018 Midlands exhibition by Dave Lee.

‘Bantam Cock’ is a model of an LNER Class V4 made by the fascinating Curley. Wikipedia says, “ Lillian “Curly” Lawrence (September 27, 1883 – November 4, 1967), known as LBSC, was one of Britain’s most prolific and well known model or scale-steam-locomotive designers.

A venerable 3 1/2 inch gauge LNER V4 to LBSC's "Bantam Cock" design, recently arrived with us in part exchange for a 5 inch gauge locomotive. Built in 1965 and quite possibly still in its original paintwork.

Most model locomotives use wheels made from Cast Iron with the tread profiles turned directly onto the cast material. This is completely satisfactory but some builders like to follow full size practice and fit a steel tyre. The justification for this is mainly to improve the grip but it also increases the life of the tyre.
