The Landing Craft, Tank (LCT) (or tank landing craft, TLC) [1] [2] was an amphibious assault craft for landing tanks on beachheads. They were initially developed by the Royal Navy and later by the United States Navy during World War II in a series of versions.

The LCT (Landing Craft Tank) is the largest landing craft of the British Army. This building is the English equivalent of the American LST and can carry up to 136 tons of cargo. I got involved with the recovery of a piece of the bow of what I believe is LCT554, recently unearthed under in a landfill, in the same position this and other 8 LCTs broached and sunk 80 years ago.
