
LMS Jubilee Class - Wikipedia
The London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) Jubilee Class is a class of steam locomotive designed for main line passenger work. 191 locomotives were built between 1934 and 1936. They were built concurrently with the similar looking LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0. They were nicknamed Red Staniers (due to their crimson liveries) and Jubs. [1] [2]

The 5XP “Jubilee” class locomotive was a further development of the “Patriot” class locomotive by William Stanier, going into production at the same time as the somewhat similar class 5P5F “Black Five” design.

Eleven were later refitted with a sloping throatplate boiler (5567, 5590, 6607-08, 5610, 5616, 5621, 5622, 5639-40, 5657 and 5665-5742 were delivered with that design. The slope reduced the tube length from 14 ft 3 in to 13 ft 3 in.
