La Scie (sometimes spelled "LaScie") is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. [1] The town had a population of 820 in the Canada 2021 Census, down from 872 in 2016.

La Scie was part of the French Shore, Le Petit Nord, from 1504-1904. By the time the French relinquished their fishing rights to the French Shore in 1904, La Scie was settled by Irish and English fisherman, many of whom were previously living in nearby Shoe Cove. By 1911 the population had grown to 429.
