Lan Zhan (蓝湛, Lán Zhàn), courtesy name Lan Wangji (蓝忘机, Lán Wàngjī) is the second young master of the Gusu Lan Clan. Titled as Hanguang-Jun (含光君, Hánguāng-jūn), Lan Wangji is one of the Twin Jades of Lan, alongside his older brother, Lan Xichen.

In the live-action drama he is the protagonist Wei Wuxian's friend/soulmate, and in the original novel and other adaptations he is the love interest.

Lan Wang Ji is the second young master of the Lan sect and one of the Twin Jades of Lan. He is the younger brother of Lan Xi Chen and the second son of Qingheng-Jun (In the original novel, he gets heavily injured when Wen Xu of Qishan Wen Sect burns down The Cloud Recesses and then succumbs to death.

In a land dominated by the mighty Wen clan, a young man named Wei Wu Xian (Xiao Zhan) strikes up an unconventional friendship with justice-loving Lan Wang Ji (Wang Yibo).

In the novel, Lan Wangji's song for the two of them is canonically called Wangxian, which is why every adaptation of Mo Dao Zu Shi has to have a Wangxian song. However, they changed the name for the song in the Untamed drama to Wuji because Wangxian was too obviously gay, so they went with another name-mash that was less obvious.
