Lawrence H. "Larry" Lee, Jr. (March 7, 1943 – October 30, 2007) was an American guitarist and singer-songwriter from Memphis, Tennessee, best known for his work with Al Green and Jimi Hendrix.

I'm the only son of a noted big band singer from the 40's era and at the age of twelve I followed in his footsteps by forming my first band. Playing drums in rock’n’roll bands all the way through junior high and high school led me to college, where music remained much more important to me than studying and grades.

2023年5月18日 · Lee was a founding member of Springfield’s Ozark Mountain Daredevils, a nationally recognized band from the country-rock movement of the 1970s. Along with several of his outstanding OMD compositions (“Spaceship Orion,” “Within Without,”) 1975’s “Jackie Blue” was the band’s biggest hit.

After divorcing his wife, Larry Lee left the band and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue his own career in 1982 after releasing a solo album, Marooned, that had been recorded in Los Angeles for Columbia and released in March of the same year.
