2014年1月15日 · on the xyz.com DC tried setting up the registry key AllowSingleLabelDnsDomain, updated the LMHOSTS and host file with abc domain but still unable to resolve the single label domain. We could not suspect that its an issue with the network as we are able to ping abc domain DCs from xyz.com. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Nikriaz, that is exactly the problem I was having too - after upgrading in situ to Windows 10 I've been struggling to get 'net view' to work correctly, I had to manually set the IP address of my NAS box in LMHOSTS just to access it. Hacking these bindings fixed it perfectly.
