The LN3 was a 3.8-litre pushrod V6 petrol engine that was first used in Australia in the VN Commodore. Developed by General Motors, the LN3 engine was also known as the Buick-Oldsmobile-Cadillac (BOC) V6 and had 90-degree V’ cylinder banks, 96.5 mm bores and an 86.3 mm stroke for a capacity of 3791 cc.

The Buick V6 is an OHV V6 engine developed by the Buick division of General Motors and first introduced in 1962. The engine was originally 198 cu in (3.2 L) and was marketed as the Fireball engine. GM continued to develop and refine the 231 cu in (3.8 L) V6, eventually and commonly referred to simply as the 3800, through numerous iterations.

2023年5月4日 · Buick introduced a balancing shaft, a new crank trigger system, and on-center bore spacing. In combination, these changes caused a bump in power to 165 bhp and 210 lb-ft of torque. They also made the LN3 much smoother under operation and more efficient overall. The L27 SI V6 eventually succeeded the LN3 V6 in the early 1990s.

2013年7月20日 · hello my fellow vners. can anyone tell me please if there is a difference in stroke between the LN3 and the L27 (series one and two)? and is there any difference in the blocks and the cranks apart from the bolt hole pattern for the crown wheel/fly wheel?
